Kappl Tirol, Austria This is an used stocknagel/medallion obtained from an individual in Europe. This stocknagel is to be mounted on a walking stick with nails to show the places that they had visited. These are called either pins, mounts, shields, stocknagel, medallions, placckette/scudetti or badges and do the same thing as lapel or hat pins, they tell everyone where you have been and what you have seen. Kappl is a municipality in the district of Landeck and is located app. 17 km southwest of Landeck in the Paznaun Valley. With an area size of 97 km² it is a larger village in the valley. Kappl was mentioned for the first time in 1370. Main source of income is tourism (especially skiing). This is an extremely nice stocknagel/medallion.
